Abstract

Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant metal material commonly used in the industrial field. Industrial companies have found in practice that stainless steel will also corrode and crack under certain conditions. Taking a semiconductor polysilicon reduction exhaust gas pipe cracking accident pipeline as an example, the chemical composition analysis, hardness analysis, metallographic structure analysis, electron microscope scanning analysis and energy spectrum analysis of the exhaust gas pipe were carried out. Combined with the actual temperature and pressure of the exhaust gas pipe, the characteristics of the fluid medium inside the pipeline and the causes of the cracking of the exhaust gas ring were discussed. It is considered that the reduction exhaust gas ring pipe mainly suffered from pitting corrosion and stress corrosion cracking caused by excessive chloride ion concentration, and targeted preventive measures were proposed.
