Abstract

This paper aims to the study of dedusting effects in confined workplace using finite volume method. First, the diffusion phenomenon of dust flow is described by discrete phase model, and the numerical results are compared with the experimental data. Second, the concentration of dust flow, which mixes with SiO2 and air, is calculated by three different dedusting methods, such as the exhaust fan method, the window ventilation method and the humidifying spray method. In terms of comparison results, the exhaust fan method has the best dust removal effect in confined workplace, and the humidifying spray method has the worst effect. The paper provides a technical support for dedusting design of confined workplace in the occupational hazards prevention field.
