Abstract

Aerogels have broad application prospects in environmental treatment, thermal insulation materials and other fields because of their high porosity, high specific surface area and extremely low density. This paper gives a detailed overview on applications of aerogels in environmental management, including the applications of aerogels in the field of adsorption and catalysis, as well as the different functions of aerogels in various reactions. Through analysis and summary, it is found that aerogels have great potential as catalytic materials or carriers, but also have problems such as long preparation cycle and weak material strength. Therefore, it is necessary to further study in simplifying the preparation methods, optimizing the preparation conditions and enhancing the material strength, while designing suitable materials according to needs.
