Abstract
A series of experiments were carried out in two linked spherical vessels to investigate the influential factors on H2-air mixtures explosion. This paper focuses on the influence of ignition position, initial pressure and pipe length on pressure in the linked vessels. The experimental results show that the variation of ignition position has little impact on the maximum hydrogen explosion pressure in the large vessel, however, the impact on the maximum hydrogen explosion pressure in the small vessel and the maximum hydrogen explosion rising rate in the linked vessels is obvious. The maximum explosion pressures in large and small vessel are both increase with the initial pressure. When the ignition in the large vessel, the change of the maximum hydrogen explosion pressure in the small vessel is more severe than that in the large vessel. When the ignition in the small vessel, the maximum hydrogen explosion pressure in the large vessel increases with pipe length.
