Abstract

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C₂₂H ₁₄O₆·2C₂H₄O₂, contains one half-molecule of 2,5-dibenzoyl-terephthalic acid (DBTA) and one acetic acid molecule. The DBTA molecule is centrosymmetric. The acetic acid molecules are linked to DBTA by strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which may be effective in the stabilization of the crystal structure.
