Abstract

1-(Ferrocenylseleno)-3-(8-hydroxyquinoline)-propane was synthesized and studied as a fluorescent sensor for Zn^{2 +} ion. It demonstrates good selectivity for sensing Zn^{2 +} via ICT mechanism.
