Abstract

Aqueous solution containing ethylene glycol and NY catalysts was prepared to absorb ethylene oxide (EO). Factors affecting EO absorption and conversion were discussed. When the reaction temperature was 45°C, EO partial pressure was > 0.06 MPa, residence time of EO was ≥ 0.1 min, residence time or reaction liquid was ≥ 20 min, mass fraction of total EO could reach 20%, and conversion of EO was ∼ 22.5%.
