Abstract

Product-oriented researches have become an important trend in the field of chemical engineering. In this paper, a broad overview of the development of chemical product engineering is presented. And the steps of product design, according to Needs, Ideas and Manufacturing, are demonstrated in detail by the research of the novel nanostructured TiO2 whiskers photocatalyst Consequently, the equipment of photocatalyst treatment has been established with the TiO2 whiskers as photocatalyst. Based on these, the theory and methodology in product engineering are proposed, including multiscale methodology and application-oriented process design.
