Abstract

The high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the analysis of phenylglycine in the synthesis of phenylglycine from benzaldehyde and chloroform was established. The influences of the composition and the flow-rate of the mobile phase on the separation were examined. The optimum chromatography conditions were found as follows: V(methanol) : V[monosodium phosphate (20 mmol/L)]=1 : 9 as the mobile phase, flow-rate of mobile phase 1 mL/min, detection wavelength 260 nm. The standard curve for phenylglycine was linear over the range of 25 - 400 mg/L. The RSD value for the accuracy of the system was 0. 13%.
