Abstract

After analyzing mechanical performance and computational model of viscous damper wall, some key issues were studied in its application in seismic design of high-rise building. The viscous damper walls were adopted in designing a twin tower building with a height of 94.95 meters, in the high seismic intensity city Suqian, Jiangsu province. Detailed damping analysis process and basic arrangement principles of damping walls were provided. Through non-linear seismic response analysis of damping system, initial arrangement scheme of damping wall was optimized. With regard to this optimized scheme, damping system was analyzed into detail about its seismic force, displacement, energy dissipation, acceleration response, additional damping ratio and plastic transformation order of components. Finally, the economic comparison of damping system was analyzed. A successful engineering case was provided for the application of damping walls in the damping design of high-rise building.
