Abstract

UV epoxy glass flake coatings were prepared with glass flakes as the main anti-corrosion pigment for corrosion protection and epoxy acrylic as the main resin. The influence of surface treatment, amount and particle size of glass flakes, and coating thickness on coating properties were investigated. The testing results of water absorption. diffusion coefficient and EIS indicated that the coatings with a better surface treated by coupling agent and 100 mesh glass flakes and 10% amount of glass flakes would give the best anti corrosion effect. The absorption weight was 0.009 1 g. diffusion coefficient was 0.95×10-14 cms, and the resistance value was 1.129×10° 2 cnr in the saturation stage.
