Abstract

Ceramic membranes are also known as inorganic ceramic membranes, which is formed by developing a layer or multilayer of ceramic materials upon the prefabricated base matrix. The major materials include alumina (Al₂O₃), zirconia (ZrO), titanium oxide (TiO₂), silicon oxide (SiO₂), etc. The configurations of the ceramic membrane include plate, tube, and multichannel ones. Figs. 14.1 and 14.2 show the multichannel ceramics schematics and pictures.
