Abstract

Ceramic membranes are also known as inorganic ceramic membranes, which is formed by developing a layer or multilayer of ceramic materials upon the prefabricated base matrix. The major materials include alumina (Al2O3), zirconia (ZrO), titanium oxide (TiO2), silicon oxide (SiO2), etc. The configurations of the ceramic membrane include plate, tube, and multichannel ones. Figs. 14.1 and 14.2 show the multichannel ceramics schematics and pictures.
