Abstract

In this paper, a new method for the determination of oil content in oily waste emulsion from steel works by CPA-ultraviolet spectrophotometry is proposed. The method determines not only oil content but also emulsifier content at the same time, thus eliminating the disturbance of emulsion. The possibility of calculated errors caused by individual accidental errors is lessened because of using multiple wavelength method. The method is proved to be simple, quick and accurate.
