Abstract

Gas explosion loading of pressure-shock-resistant vessel was firstly analyzed, then Von Mises yielding criterion was used to make strength analysis of pressure-shock-resistant vessel under different explosion load by using non-linear finite element software ANSYS. Equivalent stress history of specified positions, stress contour of particular parts and deformation characteristics of the vessel were obtained. The results show that high maximum equivalent stress appears near flange and supporting plate, much higher maximum equivalent stress appears when subjected to detonation load than deflagration load, pressure-shock-resistant vessel is safe under deflagration load because it is within elastic deformation, however when subjected to detonation load, pressure-shock-resistant vessel begins to yield plastically because local deformation appears, but the vessel can be considered to be safe because of strain-strengthening effect of metal material.
