Abstract

In this article, graphene oxide (GO) was used as liquid to hydrate calcium phosphate cement (CPC). The setting time, compressive strength and exothermal behavior of CPC cements hydrated by GO solution with different concentrations were investigated by the Vicat needle, mechanical testing machine and isothermal conduction calorimetry. The phase composition and fractured morphologies of the CPC pastes were examined by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate that GO affects the microstructure and the hydration products of CPC. The setting time of the CPC cements increases from (36±4) to (67±2) min and their compressive strength increases from (20.1±1.7) to (25.6±2.7) MPa.
