Abstract

The processes of batch and fed-batch enzymatic conversion to produce N-carbamoyl-D-phenylalanine were studied. It was found that the yield of N-carbamoyl-D-phenylalanine was near 100% in the batch enzymatic conversion process when the concentration of substrate was 20 g/L and the ratio of cell to substrate was 1:1. The yield was 60%-70% in the fed-batch enzymatic r conversion process until the concentration of substrate was from 20 g/L to 50 g/L. Finally, the ratio of cell to substrate was 1:2.5, so the cells was used adequately.
