Abstract

The revision proposal for the chemical industry standard,HG/T 3061—2009 rubber compounding ingredients—silica, precipitated, hydrated was presented. Specifically, revisions on the silica content of sample, the elongation at break of the silica filled compound, and the use of standard reference silica in the physical property test of hydrated silica, were discussed. The upper limit of the mass fraction of silica in the burning sample in the international standard ISO 5794-1 was currently applied in China, which was 0. 97. It was considered relatively small and appropriate value was recommended at 0. 98 in the revision proposal. The class A index(test value method) of the elongation at break of the existing HG/T 3061—2009 silica filled compound was too large(550%),and it was recommended to adjust it to 520%. Based on the experience of the quality control of silica products by various representative silica manufacturers,it showed that the class B index(differential value method) and class C index(ratio method) of the physical properties of the silica filled compound were more scientifically based and more reasonable than class A index because of the use of standard reference silica. Therefore, they had more significance of quality control and process guidance, and were worthy of vigorous implementation.
