Abstract

A highly efficient and selective Rh nanocatalyst was demonstrated for the reduction of nitroarenes with hydrazine monohydrate under mild conditions. Functional groups such as halides (F, Cl, Br and I), CN, NH 2, OH, alkene, ester and amide groups were untouched during the hydrogenation of the nitroarenes, and the corresponding anilines were obtained quantitatively.
