Abstract
The effect of 3,5-bis (2-thienyl)-4-amino-l,2, 4-triazole (2-TAT) on corrosion inhibition of copper was studied in 1 molL-l HCl by polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The electrochemical study reveals that the compound is a cathodic-type inhibitor. Changes in impedance parameters are the indication of adsorption of 2-TAT on the copper surface, leading to the formation of a protective film. The adsorption of 2-TAT obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
