Abstract

Comparing to conventional ingot metallurgy, replacement-diffusion and solid-phase diffusion, the process of hydriding combustion synthesis (HCS) is a newly developed technology in production of Mg-based hydrogen storage alloys with many advantages, such as short processing time, simple equipment, high product purity, low energy requirement and so on. In this paper, the method and mechanism of HCS as well as the research progress are introduced briefly.
