Abstract

Vinyl end silicone oil was modified with branched vinyl silicone oil, which was used as silicone sealant. Ratio of silicone oil blending was optimized to endow silicone sealant with better performance. Optimum silicone oil blending was filled with different amount of precipitated silica and fumed silica for reinforcement, and the effect of variety and amount of silica on viscosity, mechanical properties, shear strength and electrical properties was investigated. The results show that silicone sealant possesses optimal mechanical properties and processability, when the ratio of silicone oil is 401-1500/411-4800=100/15 with fillers, the tensile strength and shear strength could reach 2.27 MPa and 4.64 MPa in the presence of silicone sealant filled with 20 phr~25 phr precipitated silica, meanwhile, silicone sealant possesses electrical properties.
