Abstract

The (Y0.99R0.01)2 Ti2O7(R=Pr, Tb, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu) microwave dielectric ceramics were prepared by conventional solid-state route. The effects of Pr, Tb, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu doping on the phase composition, sintering characteristics and microwave dielectric properties of Y2Ti2O7 ceramics were investigated. The results indicated that the doping on the A-site improved the microwave dielectric properties of Y2Ti2O7 ceramics. The prepared samples maintain a single pyrochlore phase and show Y2Ti2O7 as the main phase. When R=Er, the (Y0.99Er0.01)2 Ti2O7 samples sintered at 1450°C for 4h have optimum microwave dielectric properties: εr= 44.3, Q × f= 12021GHz(5.371GHz), τf = +44 × 10-6/°C, which are better than those of Y2Ti2O7 ceramics(εr= 54, Q×f=6565 GHz, τf =-31×10-6/°C).
