Abstract
A human with variable mass, stiffness and damping distributions is placed on a beam. A new dynamic model for human-beam coupled system is established by means of the Lagrange equation. Based on the presented model, this paper investigates the influence of human occupants on dynamic characteristics of a slender simply supported beam. Compared with the experimental results made by British scholars, it is demonstrated that the new dynamic model is correct and reasonable.
