Abstract

Surface-modification of nanoparticles is of great importance due to surface atoms and certain toxicity in biology. The RAFT(reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer) polymerization technique has proved to be a versatile tool to modify the nanoparticles surface with a variety of functional polymers. The latest research progress of modifying Au, SiO2 and Fe3O4 nanoparticles by RAFT polymerization are briefly reviewed in this paper.
