Abstract

The effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-B19 alloy was investigated. The results showed that increasing the solution temperature and aging temperature could improve fracture toughness. The tensile strength of specimens solution treated at β region is nearly independent of the solution treatment temperature. With aging temperature increasing, tensile strength decreased and ductility increased. In order to obtain a good balance of strength-ductility-toughness. β solution treatment (900°C∼950°C) and aging treatment at 520∼540 °C have been presented as optimized heat treatments.
