Abstract

Pd-catalyzed ortho-C-H iodination directed by a weakly coordinating amide auxiliary using I₂ as the sole oxidant was developed. This reaction is compatible with a wide range of heterocycles including pyridines, imidazoles, oxazoles, thiazoles, isoxazoles, and pyrazoles.
