PMMA-based transparent composition doped with nanosized SnO2 prepared using sol-gel method

Abstract

The nanosized SnO2 colloids in ethanol were prepared by Sol-Gel at 140°C, the ethanol modified amorphous nanosized SnO2 was prepared. The nanosized SnO2 was dissolved in MMA, then nano-composites of SnO2/PMMA could be prepared. Modified SnO2 power, ethanol solution of nanosized SnO2 and nano-composites of SnO2/PMMA were characterized by the XRD, FTIR, TG-DSC. The result show nanosized SnO2 can wonderfully disperse in PMMA, transparent nano-composites of nanosized SnO2 can be obtained by the method.
