Abstract
The superhydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene-polyphenylene sulfide (PTFE-PPS) composite coating was prepared by spraying coating on the aluminum substrate. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigation indicated that the composite coating had the similar surface structure to that of lotus leaf. The water contact angle on the coating surface was 155° and the sliding angle was 7°. Compared with the pure superhydrophobic PTFE coating on the aluminum substrate, the conglutination force of the composite coating was improved from grade 5 to grade 1, the pencil rigidity was increased from 4 B to 4 H, and the flexility of the composite coating was improved from (10 ± 0.1) mm to (1 ± 0.1) mm. The composite coating was sufficient to the requirements of industrial application.
