Abstract

Aluminum and zinc oxide (ZAO) powders were prepared by sol-gel combustion method. The morphologies, microstructure, laser absorbency and infrared emissivity of the obtained ZAO nanoparticles were characterized by DSC-TG, XRD, SEM, reflectivity analyzer and emissivity measurement respectively. It was shown that the ZAO was hexagonal system. XRD patterns showed that the calcination temperature was higher than 700°C, and the crystalling phase was better. From the SEM images, the particle size of ZAO powders decreased with the increasing Al3+ doping content, and anomalous shape also increased. The ZAO powder has strong laser absorption at 900-1200 nm wavelength range. At the same time, ZAO powder has medium infrared emissivity.
