Abstract

Smoke screen is an important electro-optical counter measure. IR-smoke screen interfering material has become an international hotspot of investigation and development. An infrared aerosol material prepared from pure reagents of SiO2, Al2O3, MgCO3 and TiO2 by the combustion at high temperature was described. The extinction effect of this aerosol material at IR wavelength approximately 8 - 14 μm is excellent. The experimental results indicated when the average particle size is 4.2 μm, the infrared ceramic smoke screen material possesses good screening effect (transmittance ≤15%), longer screening time, better thermal stability and storage performance.
