Abstract
A series of Pt/WO3/ZrO2 and Pt/Al2O 3-WO3/ZrO2 catalysts were prepared by impregnation and their catalytic performance for glycerol hydrogenolysis was studied in a fixed bed reactor. The physic-chemical properties were characterized by FT-IR spectra of pyridine adsorption, temperatureprogrammed desorption of NH3(NH3-TPD) and temperature-programmed desorption of H2(H2-TPD) methods. The results indicated that the activity of Pt/Al2O3-WO3/ZrO 2 was closely related with the Al content, capacity of H2 adsorption and surface acid property. The addition of appropriate amount of Al can increase the Lewis acid site. The amount of H2 adsorption over the catalyst with n(Al)/n (W) = 0. 1 is 106. 7 μmol/g, the conversion of glycerol and the yield of 1,3-propanediol are 36.8% and 16. 3% respectively, each of which is much higher than that over Pt/WO3/ZrO2 catalyst.
