Abstract

N-oxidized pyridine was synthesized from the oxidation of pyridine with TS-1 as catalyst. The influences of catalyst amount, the amount of H2O2, reaction temperature, and reaction time on conversion and selectivity were investigated. The optimal parameters for the oxidation of pyridine were obtained from the experimental results as follows: catalyst/pyridine= 1 : 10 (mass), pyridine / H2O2 = 1 : 2 (mol), optimal reaction temperature of 80°C with stirring and reaction time of 6 h. Under the optimal experimental condition, the highest conversion and selectivity were obtained as 92% and 97%, respectively.
