Abstract
The performance of self-made NJ adsorbent was studied to recover ethylene from industrial off-gas of ethylene oxide (EO) plant by pressure swing adsorption (PSA), focusing on the effects of C2H6, CO2, CH4, and O2 on adsorption of C2H4. The NJ adsorbent had great PSA stability, except O2 present in off-gas had some effect on C2H4 adsorption. The adsorbent could be regenerated by depressurizing and vacuum degassing. Adsorption capacity of C2H4 in C2H4-C2H6, C2H4-CO2, C2H4-CH4 systems were all above 10 mL/g. The adsorption capacity of C2H4 in C2H4-CH4-O2 was about 7.5 mL/g. The adsorption capacity of C2H4 in the off-gas from the EO plant was about 6 mL/g.
