Probabilistic computation method of critical crack length of nuclear pressure piping

Abstract

When the leak-before-break theory is applied to the assessment of nuclear pressure piping containing defects, the uncertainty of main random variables (such as load, flow stress and defect sizes) and possible failure modes are considered, and then the method of computing the break probability of nuclear pressure piping is set up, while the critical crack length under a certain break probability is obtained.
