Abstract

The DABT was synthesized from 2, 3-butanedione, liquid dibromine and thiourea; and the polymer of DABT polycondendation of p-aminobenzoic acid was synthesized by DABT, p-aminobenzoic acid and paraformaldehyde. Their metal complexes were prepared by doping Fe2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ sulfates. Their structures were characterized by infrared spectra and 1H-NMR spectra, thermal, electro-magnetic and fluorescence properties were measured. The experiment results show that conductivity of polymer is excelled their metal complexes, it is 3.12×10-6 S/cm, belonging to semiconductor. Magnetism properties of metal complexes by doping Fe2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ are obviously better than polymer of un-doping, and property of Fe2+-complexes is best. The Fe2+-complexes exhibits a typical "S" shape hysteresis cycle, the observed coercive fields is 130 Oe, and relative saturation magnetization and remnant magnetization is 0.612 emu/g and 0.0257 emu/g, respectively. The Fe2+-complexes is a soft ferromagnet and the Cu2+-complexes is a novel organic photic functional materials as it has properties of emission fluorescence and UV-blue.
