Abstract

Beta-alumina solid electrolyte (BASE) is a fast ion conductor material which shows high conductivity of sodium ions and low electronic conductivity. Recent Progress on the Application of BASE in energy storage such as Na Based Batteries (NBBS) and Alkali metal thermal-to-electric converter (AMTEC), and Non-Faradaic Electrochemical Modification of Catalytic Activity (NEMCA) in environmental protection were reviewed.
