Abstract
RC tube in a tube structure with friction joints is designed to control the seismic response of the RC tube in the tube structure. The frame tube and the wall tube are connected by the friction Joints. Under severe earthquakes, the differential movement between the frame tube and the wall tube causes hysteretic energy dissipation by the friction joints slipping. Nonlinear time-history dynamic analysis has been used to study and to - demonstrate the seismic performance of the RC tube in the tube structure with friction joints.
