Abstract

Research on liquefied ammonia releasing through tank hole and pipe is done. As to ammonia releasing through tank hole, the influence of storage conditions (normal temperature and high pressure, low temperature and low pressure) on release is discussed. The results indicate that when accidental release takes place, the former condition could result in more hazardous consequence than the latter. For ammonia releasing through pipe, pipe length, diameter and different storage temperature are considered. The results of its influence on two-phase emission rate, exit velocity, exit pressure, release density, vapor fraction and release diameter after expansion are concluded. The emission rate and exit velocity fall as pipe length increases or pipe diameter decreases. When storage temperature decreases, the emission rate, exit velocity, exit pressure, vapor fraction and the release diameter after expansion decreases while the release density increases.
