Abstract
The damage and the residue life of a whole HP-Nb hydrogen reformer furnace tube which had serviced for 12 yr were investigated using metallographic examination, ambient temperature and high temperature uniaxial tensile tests, creep rupture tests and damage mechanics analysis. The different parts of the tube at different heights had different degrees of damage and different residue life due to different service temperatures. Based on these research results, local maintenance of the reformer tube was recommended.
