Abstract

The Cu-Ni/CuO-NiO (named as CNO) nanocatalysts are prepared through solution plasma method and the subsequent heat treatment. The CNO catalysts exhibit an excellent electrocatalytic performance (current density of 3563 A g−1) and improved cycling stability (89% remained after 1000 cycles) for methanol electro-oxidation. The results show the CNO catalysts have superior activity for methanol electrocatalytic oxidation in alkaline solution over the other transition metal (oxide) based catalysts.
