Abstract

The effect of different fineness and content of fly ash and slag on the strength of fly ash-slag-cement(FSC) composite cementitious material were investigated. The particle size distributions of fly ash and slag were determined by laser diffractometer. The hydration process of FSC composite cementitious material were studied by measuring hydration heat. Results show that the influence of fineness of slag can contribute notably to the strength of FSC composite cementitious material. The finer the slag, the higher the strength. Optimization for the particle size distributions of fly ash and slag can promote synergetic effect. Composite cementitious material containing 33%(by mass) of slag can meet the standard specification for 52.5R blend cement when the total amount of fly ash and slag accounts for 50%.
