Abstract

Study on 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol (2, 4, 6-TCP) degradation in wastewater was investigated by ozone catalytic oxidation. Simulated 2, 4, 6-TCP wastewater was catalyzed using an in-house catalyst (Al2O3 supported Mn, Ce, La metal oxide). Factors affecting degradation efficiency such as ozone dosage, initial 2, 4, 6-TCP concentration and pH were studied. The results show that when studied at pH = 9 and ozone dosage = 5 g∙h-1, the COD removal rates of 1 L 100 mg∙L-1 2, 4, 6-TCP wastewater for ozonation and catalytic ozonation are 76.04% and 86.46%, respectively. Catalyst stability study shows that the COD removal ratio reduces by 4% after 7 cycles, which indicates good stability of the catalyst. Finally, three degradation pathways of 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol were analyzed.
