Abstract
Electrochemical performances of Pb-Ca-Bi grid alloy with different contents, including gassing evolution and corrosion, were studied. The polarization curve data showed that Bi in the alloys can increase hydrogen over voltage so decrease the possibility of hydrogen separated. At the same time, it could catalyze the oxygen, but its function was not obvious. Cyclic voltammetry can also prove that Bi in the alloys can improve the conductivity. The SEM results showed that the few contents of Bi could not improve the performance of resisting corrosion, but it could cause bimetallic corrosion. However, the compact capability of the corrosion film and its resistance to corrosion were good when the content of Bi was 0.129%.
