Abstract

The Co-LsX catalyst is synthesized via ion-exchange procedures. The basic framework structure of zeolite LsX hasn't been destroyed after Co2+ ion exchange. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, the amount of catalyst, the amount of solvent and the flow rate of oxygen on the reaction of styrene epoxidation are investigated in details. The best condition is found as follows:100°C, of reaction temperature, reacting for 6 hours, 0.16:1 of the mass ratio of Co-LsX to styrene, 5 :1 of the volume ratio of mix solvent to styrene, 1.3:1 min-1 of the volume ratio of oxygen to styrene. Under these conditions, the conversion of styrene could reach 62.5 %, and the selectivity of styrene oxide was 57.1 %. The catalyst can be recycled for six times with high activity and stability kept.
