Abstract
Catalyst for hydrogen chloride oxidation supported on Y zeolite with active ingredient of copper and assistant of rare earth oxide mixture and potassium was prepared. Effects of the catalyst size, the volume ratio of HCl to O2 and reaction temperature on the oxidation of hydrogen chloride were investigated, and catalyst life for hydrogen chloride oxidation was studied. Results showed that 86% conversion of HCl was still obtained per pass at 490 (L-HCl)/(kg-cat·h) with the suitable catalystsize of 0.6 mm, 1.5 volume ratio of HCl to O2 and 365°C reaction temperature. ICP analysis of copper content in condensate water from oxidation reaction showed that loss rate of the main active constituent of copper was 6 × 10-6 g/h and the catalyst was good stability.
