Abstract

AIM: The purpose is to investigate transdermal transfersomes of heparin. METHODS: Transfersomes were prepared through ultrasonication, and the shape of transfersomes was observed under the electronic microscope. The change of shape was evaluated with the relative velocity through a 0.15 μm micropore film, and the penetration enhancing effect of transfersomes on heparin was tested by the changes of rabbits blood coagulation time. RESULTS: Transfersome particles of heparin were globular or elliptic, their diameter scope was 50-300 nm, the encapsulated ratio of transfersome was 28.7%, and they had a better shape changing property and a significant penetration enhancing effect. CONCLUSION: Transfersome was an excellent transdermal carrier.
