Abstract
Two kinds of quaternary phosphonium salts - tetrakis-(hydroxymethyl) phosphonium sulfate (THPS) and tetrakis-(hydroxymethyl) phosphonium chloride (THPC) were synthesized, and their structures were identified by elementary analysis, IR and 31P NMR. For determination of the active matter contents in the products, a new method by ion-exchange technique was established, the results of w(THPS) and w(THPC) are 76. 05% and 75. 84% respectively. The bactericidal potencies of the products were evaluated, the results showed that when the concentrations of THPS and THPC are 50 mg/L, the bactericidal efficiency on SRB are all 100%, and when the concentrations of THPS and THPC are 100 mg/L, the bactericidal efficiency on HB are all 99.6%.
