Abstract
The synthesis of ethylene carbonate (EC) from ethylene oxide (EO) aqueous solution and CO2 with NY-2 catalyst was investigated. The main factor influencing conversion of EO was mole ratio of water/EO, and the main factors affecting selectivity to EC were reaction temperature and mole ratio of water to EO. Under optimal conditions, conversion of EO and selectivity to EC could reach above 97.62 and ∼ 92.55%, respectively.
