Abstract

Structural fragments are one of the important reasons to cause a domino effect in an industrial plant. The study of the vessel wall response law under different energy loading is conducive to analysis structural fragment formation mechanism and the cause of the industrial accident. This study selects the LS-DYNA to simulate the cylindrical vessel wall response law under different energy load. The results show that the minimum value of explosion load could be determined by the vessel wall response result and the kinetic energy of structural fragment forming process can be traced by means of energy conservation.
