Abstract

Different morphology of zinc oxide (ZnO) is prepared by simple hydrothermal decomposition and microwave-assisted hydrothermal and modified by oleic acid. The structure, morphology, and the characteristices of the sampls are characteried by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and UV absorption spectroscopy. After the ZnO Nanorods are modified by oleic acid, the surface characteristic of the ZnO nanorod is changed from hydrophilic-oleophobic to oleophilic-hydrophobicity, and the great UV shielding can be achieved when the oleic acid-modified ZnO nanorods are blended with the vaseline beauty cream.
